Tips for trusting your intuition while healing

Innately, our bodies want to be in balance and healthy. They aren’t working against us, although it can sometimes feel like that.

What can get in the way of this innate ability to heal? The biggest one is being disconnected from our body and its needs.

I find that most often when women are connected to their bodies and pay attention to whether their needs are being met (nutrition, sleep, light exposure, stress, movement, mental/emotional, etc.), they know what they need. It’s not something they need to hear from a practitioner or their doctor.

How can we learn to connect with our bodies more? This can look a little different for everyone, but the common theme is slowing down and simplifying.

Information overload is real and can lead to overwhelm and constantly changing your approach. I’ve seen many women jump from diet to diet, try new supplements every month, and are constantly on the hunt for the thing that will solve all of their problems.

This approach gives your body whiplash–it’s constantly adjusting and adapting to the changes, making it difficult to see progress.

What can we do instead?
-go on an information diet–stop taking in new information about your main health concerns
-set aside quiet time where you can just be
-journal and reflect on that quiet time–you might be surprised what comes up!
-practice breath work or EFT

All of these will allow you to tune into what your body needs and what is has been trying to communicate to you. Sometimes the most powerful change we can make has nothing to do with what we are eating.
