My name is Amanda and I help women HEAL from hormonal birth control, balance their hormones, and BOOST energy for life.
I graduated from the University of Connecticut and became a Registered Dietitian many moons ago, but it wasn’t until I was getting off hormonal birth control that I began to dive into integrative nutrition and functional medicine.
I know what it’s like to have your hormones raging, breakouts upon breakouts on your face, and to just not feel like yourself.
9 years ago, I made the transition to get off hormonal birth control. I was so excited to finally take my health into my own hands, but I didn’t have the knowledge to prepare my body and it all backfired. My acne became out of control, my periods were all over the place and extremely painful, and no matter how well I ate I still felt like crap.
I was told by my doctor that my only option was to go back on hormonal birth control. That answer wasn’t good enough for me, so I dug into the research and learned about how the pill actually impacts the body.
I learned everything I could about hormones, detox, and gut health and was able to heal my hormones, get my energy back, and help over a hundred other women do the same.
When I was at my most vulnerable point and scared she listened and provided suggestions when I needed it the most. My life is getting better each day and my health is improving but this would not be possible without working with Amanda.
Working with Amanda has been a game changer for me. First and foremost her ability to listen to me was unparalleled. From what I wanted to focus on, to what my budget was, to what my fears and concerns were. She just GOT it.
I really liked the challenge of refocusing and resetting myself physically and mentally. I have ‘clean eating’ in check and it always seems at some point in the winter (I live in CT) the wheels come off, my hormones are out of balance, and the bus and I need to re-center myself again.
Amanda was personally available via phone and email whenever I had a question or wanted clarity on something. All resources were helpful and structured- which I REALLY like!
I love seed cycling*, but I really struggled with being consistent for two reasons: I didn’t plan ahead. One of the most important aspects of seed cycling is consistency and I really struggled with this. I would grind the seeds ahead of time and keep them in the fridge or freezer, but I still wouldn’t […][...]
Since I talk about the effects of hormonal birth control and how to transition off so frequently, I often get asked about the copper IUD I personally had the copper IUD for 7 years since I wanted a non hormonal form of birth control and wasn’t ready to rely 100% on the Fertility Awareness Method […][...]
If you’ve read my other posts on how hormonal birth control (HBC) works in the body and the side effects of it and you’re feeling like you want to transition, then you’re in the right place! You might be freaked out about getting off the pill or getting your IUD out, but once you reconnect […][...]
