Gut Healing Gummies

Gelatin is an incredibly healing food that has been studied for hundreds of years because of its positive impact on health.

It is best known for its improvement in digestion, decreased joint inflammation, supporting good sleep, increasing insulin sensitivity, healing the gut lining, and improving digestive capacity (how well we break down our food).

Gelatin is a food I intentionally prioritize in my diet and encourage clients to do the same. One of my favorite ways to do this is via these pineapple gummies!

Pineapple Gummies
Ingredients:⁣
– 2 cups Organic Cold Pressed Pineapple juice
– 30g of @greatlakesgelatin
– 2 tbsp Honey or Pure Maple Syrup
– pinch of sea salt

Instructions⁣:
1. Heat pineapple juice over medium high heat until it starts to boil. You have to boil pineapple juice because it contains an enzyme called bromelain that helps us break down protein. If we don’t break down the bromelain, it breaks down the gelatin and the mixture doesn’t gel. ⁣
2. Remove from heat and slowly stir in the honey and gelatin. Mix thoroughly until it is all completely blended. ⁣
3. Pour into silicone holder and place in fridge. Allow it to set for a couple hours in the fridge.
4. Remove the gummies and enjoy!

If you want to make a coconut pineapple version (my current favorite), all you would do is add 1 cup of canned coconut milk and 1 additional tbsp of gelatin.

Not a fan of gummies? You can also mix gelatin into coffee or oatmeal. Once the oatmeal is cooked, just mix in the amount desired (I usually do 1 tsp).
