What you can see based on Tara’s HTMA is that she is in the stressed state, losing a lot of minerals (energy), and dealing with very high calcium.
What you can’t see:
-her history of restrictive diets/under eating/skipping meals
-the 16 supplements she was taking to support her thyroid/hormones
-her slew of hypothyroid symptoms despite taking thyroid medication for years
Tara was ready for a change. She had met her breaking point and knew she couldn’t go on living like she was. So we did a hair test and were able to identify that high calcium was an issue for her. She had many signs of iodine deficiency, so we did some iodine testing as well to confirm.
The first big focus though was getting off all those supplements and EATING. Often the most overlooked, nutrition is key for thyroid health. This was a struggle at first because of her poor appetite, but slowly over time, Tara was able to increase her intake. The biggest thing that helped? Not skipping meals.
She also implemented an iodine protocol (discussed more in the free training and Master Your Minerals course), which helped improve her production of thyroid hormone.
One big thing she did after chatting with her doctor was stop the thyroid meds. She felt they made her feel worse (very common when under eating).
After implementing the nutrition and supplement changes, Tara felt worlds better and like she could actually do the things she wanted to support her health.
