One big part of my third trimester experience has been eczema. Not super fun but thankfully, I know people like @anti.inflammatory.nutritionist and @nutritionbyrobyn that were able to provide resources to help me heal.
I did a whole episode on eczema with Christa from @anti.inflammatory.nutritionist and all of that information applies to my situation.
I completed a GI map stool test right before I got pregnant with my first child, and saw a very low secretory IgA that showed low immune system function and low beneficial bacteria. I didn’t have overgrowth or much going on, but that is common when secretory IgA is low. You often don’t get the full picture of what’s going on in the gut.
I most likely had some overgrowth going on and eventually that caught up with me once I hit the third trimester. I took a holistic approach to eczema and tried to cover all of my bases:
1. I added in immune system support (MegaIgG2000 worked best for me). This made a HUGE difference. I tried colostrum but it made my eczema worse.
2. I added in megasporebiotic and stopped my other probiotic that I was using to avoid Group B Strep.
3. I stopped fermented foods. I wasn’t doing a ton but avoided everything.
4. I met with the aesthetician from @clearskinlab and changed my skincare products. I saw an almost immediate change after this.
5. I started doing lymphatic massage on my head and neck daily when I put my skincare products on.
You can swipe above to see the progress over the 9 weeks. I was very happy with the progress!
