Its not the stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it

Are you resilient to stress? I used to handle stress very poorly. Loud noises would make me jump, I cried easily, took offense to everything, and generally felt exhausted. This made me feel crazy because I was doing so much for my health. Why was nothing enough?

Turns out, I was doing too much. Intermittent fasting, working out too much for my body/life circumstances, eating low carb, taking ALL the supplements, cutting out gluten and dairy, meditating, doing breath work, waking up at 5 am so I could do an intense morning routine, and the list goes on. All on top of working a full-time job as an RD and trying to pursue passions like CrossFit and advanced courses in nutrition.

The key to building resiliency is to do less, not more.
👉🏼Ditch the fad diets and eat balanced meals regularly until you’re full.
👉🏼Stop taking supplements that you see influencers share on Instagram. Prioritize the essentials you can’t get from food and that’s it.
👉🏼Simplify your daily life and health practices–what is actually helping you? What do you enjoy doing? What adds to your stress? Get rid of anything that isn’t working (at least take a break for now) and continue what is working.

One of the coolest testimonies I hear from women in my community and the Master Your Minerals course is that they can handle stress better. A situation that would have made them freak out in the past is no longer a big deal. Yes, it’s cool when labs improve but improving your real life that you live every day is even better, IMO.

We will never eliminate all stress and we shouldn’t want to. My goal is always to improve how someone responds to it. I think this is a true test of good health.
