Are You Suffering From Copper Overload?

One thing that has been coming up with quite a few of my clients lately is copper overload or copper toxicity. It sounds extreme and you may be thinking that you don’t get exposed to copper on a regular basis, but we are actually exposed to it all of the time.

Hormonal birth control increases copper in the body because of how copper and estrogen work together in the body. When estrogen goes up, copper goes up and vice versa.

Here’s who I’m seeing this in most often:

  • Recurrent UTI’s and yeast infections
  • Hypothyroidism
  • SIBO
  • Extreme fatigue and PMS
  • Depression and anxiety

This is a great blog that has tons of research articles linked as well if you want to learn more about the basics of copper overload.

Lesson of the Week

How To Grow Broccoli Sprouts

My most popular youtube video is STILL the one of me showing you how to grow your own broccoli sprouts from like 2-3 years ago. ⁣

🥦Why broccoli sprouts?⁣

1. 3-4 day old broccoli sprouts have up to 100x the amount of sulforaphane as mature broccoli.⁣

2. Sulforaphane is a potent cancer-fighting, detox boosting, and antibacterial compound found in cruciferous vegetables and sprouts.⁣

🚨Benefits of broccoli sprouts:⁣

🔹help protect against cancer⁣

🔹benefit the heart⁣

🔹boost the brain⁣

🔹increase glutathione⁣

🔹support natural detoxification AND estrogen detox!⁣

Instructions For Growing Your Own Sprouts:

Step 1: Add 1/2 a cup of organic broccoli sprout seeds to a mason jar and cover with filtered water. Let sit overnight. ⁣

Step 2: The next morning, drain your seeds and rinse one time with filtered water. Let as much water out as you can through the sprouting top, then let them drain in a bowl like this. You will rinse and drain morning and night for 4-ish days.

Step 3: Continue rinsing and draining morning and night and a couple days in your sprouts start to look like this!

Step 4: Continue to rinse and drain morning and night for 4-ish days or whenever your heart desires. You need a minimum of 3-4 days to get all the sulforaphane benefits, but that’s it!

Step 5: You want to do one final rinse and drain on your sprouts then I like to lay them out on a paper towel or cloth towel on a cookie sheet to dry for a couple hours. You can also throw them in a salad spinner to get some of the seeds out if you want, but not 100% necessary.

Step 6: Once your sprouts are pretty dry, store them in a mason jar in the fridge for up to a couple weeks or throw them in the freezer.

Now enjoy them on any food you like!
