3 Subtle Healing Signs

When you start to unlearn both conventional and your typical functional wellness advice, step away from fad diets, and stop over exercising, healing begins.

The healing journey is rewarding but can also be hard and overwhelming. Unlearning wellness and diet rules is hard. Especially in the online world when everyone is sharing their opinion on health, influencers are telling you what helped them, and there’s a research article to support every diet.

Not only can the healing journey be full of second guessing yourself, but it can be S L O W. Many of us have been stressing our bodies for years if not decades, but somehow we still would like to see a significant change in our symptoms/main concerns overnight.

i get it. I’ve been there! Luckily, our bodies give us subtle healing signs on the journey that we can start to notice and celebrate if we slow down.

Three of my favorite subtle healing signs:
1. An increase in your basal body temperature (BBT). This is ANY increase. I think we get too obsessed with wanting to be in the optimal range and comparing our BBT to others. If your BBT goes up .1 degree, then celebrate! Things are going in the right direction.

2. Being able to handle stress better. This is a huge one that I talked about a few weeks back and many of you shared your stories about how you were better able to handle stress when you started eating enough, drinking adrenal cocktails, and nourishing your bodies in general.

3. Positive changes in mood! I see this in general but also with mood stability. Most women first notice this during the luteal phase with less PMS symptoms and having their period sneak up on them. I often see menopausal women notice more mood consistency and less bouts of ups and downs.
