Nahal is a special Master Your Minerals course student that is still on her hormone healing journey, but has had so many big changes along the way that I had to share.
She has a history of PCOS and hypothyroidism and despite feeling like she was doing everything right, she wasn’t seeing improvement in her symptoms. Nahal was still dealing with fatigue, brain fog, and hadn’t had a cycle in 3 months.
She was taking progesterone and thyroid meds daily along with a lot of nourishing foods and whole food based supplements. The big issue was the daily progesterone and the fact that she wasn’t responding to thyroid meds no matter how much she increased her dose.
Some of the big changes we made were stopping the progesterone and only using it after ovulation was confirmed. She also got off her thyroid meds and we started an iodine protocol (this is something I cover in the master your minerals course).
After stopped the daily progesterone, she did eventually ovulate. What really helped her cycles was the iodine protocol. She had a 34 day cycle after starting it, which was a huge win.
The other big change we made was with her nutrition. After doing some food tracking, we realized she was probably overeating carbs and not quite getting enough protein. After making some adjustments to her meals she found a balance that worked for her.
Nahal is still working toward improving her metabolism and hormone levels to get ready for conception, but has made so much progress in the last few months!
